Class Descriptions
Gymnastics
This non-competitive program provides a fun and challenging gymnastics environment. Children use all the gymnastics equipment and a variety of manipulatives such as balls, hoops, bean bags, etc. in each class. The program is designed to assist youngsters in motor development, rhythm, strength, coordination, social group skills and developing self-confidence and self-esteem. Class begins with a warm-up to get the children active and to stretch their muscles. By using easy to follow circuits (to keep the children moving), and large gymnastics apparatus (bars, beam, floor, vault, rope, trampoline, rings and foam pit) new skills are learned each week. Gymnastics terminology such as tuck, pike and straddle are introduced and reviewed each class. Every child will be challenged to his/her level of ability. Success is achieved every class no matter how small or large the discovery!
